I love movies. It’s so fun to kick back, relax, and get lost in a great storyline. If it’s a chick flick, even better. I love a happy ending!
I adore movies that feature dogs. In fact, if it’s a love story that includes a dog, I’m all in. You may have figured that out from my list of my favorite chick flicks featuring dogs!
Recently I was given the chance to get an early look at a brand new movie featuring dogs and love. Unleashed is a hilarious Indie comedy that’s coming to theaters and on demand this Friday, August 25, and if you’re an animal lover, it’s definitely worth a look. Check out the trailer below.
Emma is a brilliant but awkward app designer who moves to San Francisco after she’s betrayed by her boyfriend. When a cosmic event turns Emma’s dog and cat into two perfect guys, she must reconsider her outlook on dating, work out her trust issues, and ultimately learn to love herself.
The film has already been nominated for numerous awards, and it’s no wonder because it’s got an amazing cast. Kate Micucci plays Emma and she does an amazing job. She actually reminds me a little bit of myself.
But I digress…
The real show stealers are her pets. Her “cat” is played by Justin Chatwin, who you’ll recognize from many great movies. And her “dog” is played by Steve Howey, the bumbling idiot son-in-law on the sitcom Reba.
My favorite, though, is Emma’s love interest, Carl, who is played by Sean Astin. I loved him in 50 First Dates, Mom’s Night Out, and of course Rudy. He’s also the son of the late great Patty Duke.
All in all, I found Unleashed to be a fun and endearing movie that animal lovers will enjoy. It’s a great date movie that would make for a super fun evening with someone you love. Opening on Friday, August 25th in these locations:
