It is so important to know the kind of dog you are adopting. I mean, as well as you can since personalities are all so different. Cocoa is super high energy and we are so happy she has us because I love to run with her and she gets her exercise. I have a soft spot for Pitbulls and Boxers and Plott Hounds!!
I am an aunt to and live with two pitties and a puggle, all great dogs. I know that if I’m ever in a position to adopt, I will be looking for an older dog, 5+ years, with a very laid back personality. I am an oldie myself and have some mobility issues so a dog who enjoys just hanging out on the couch while I’m at the computer and is happy to cuddle and be loved on would be ideal for me.
In NYC, the 2 most popular dog breeds are French Bulldogs and English Bulldogs. Seeing how many of them live in our building, I’d say they are popular in NJ too.
