I’m super lucky. Because I work from home, every day is Take Your Dog to Work Day for me. Being able to spend so much time with my dogs is truly one of the best perks of running my own business.
If you’re not quite so lucky and you work outside the home, you should know that this Friday, June 23, is Take Your Dog to Work Day in the United States. If your employer is participating in this fun event, it’s such a great time for you to take your mutt with you for a day of fun at work.
Our friends at Petplan created the cute infographic below to outline some basic rules for a successful TYDTW Day. Take a peek, and then we’ll chat some more below.
Helpful Tips for Take Your Dog to Work Day
Obviously, you have to be prepared before you take your dog to work with you. Make sure your dog is:
- Neutered or spayed;
- Friendly with others (people and pets);
- Up to date on all shots;
- A social butterfly – some dogs would prefer to stay home, so it’s important to know what your dog likes.
Before you take your dog to work with you this Friday, check with your employer to make sure they’re participating in this fun annual event.
If you’re lucky enough to work for a company that allows pets every day, count your blessings and thank your lucky stars that you’ve found an employer who appreciates dogs as much as you do.
Make sure you’re prepared for whatever your dog needs while you’re at work. Pack an on-the-go essentials bag, and be sure to include food, treats, and bottled water.
