I love living with dogs. Their unconditional love and acceptance is amazing, and I feel blessed every day by the two crazy mutts that call me dog mom.
What I don’t necessarily care for is dog hair everywhere. This is especially true because a few months ago, we got brand new living room furniture that cost a small fortune, and we were faced with the question do we continue to allow the dogs on the couch?
I mean, let’s be honest. In addition to the shedding, dogs can carry dirt and germs in from outdoors. Their claws can snag furniture. And I don’t know about yours, but one of my dogs likes to compulsively lick wherever she’s laying.
I didn’t want all this abuse on my new furniture, but my dogs are family and I didn’t want to keep them off the couch. That meant I had to find a solution.
I looked at a lot of furniture covers, but I didn’t find anything I was super impressed with. I didn’t want to hide my beautiful new furniture; I just wanted to protect it in a beautiful way. Honestly, it shouldn’t be so hard for a dog mom to have a nice home.
That’s when I found the large bolstered furniture protector from Solvit.
The bolstered style combines furniture protection and comfort for pets. The generously-filled bolster provides a cushion on three sides and serves as a backstop to keep pet hair from touching the upholstery. It’s also easily removed for cleaning or when guests arrive.
Because Nike is a big girl (about 70 pounds), I chose the large furniture protector in a cocoa brown color, which complements our furniture so nicely.
The Sta-Put™ straps keep the furniture protector in place so that it doesn’t move when our big girl lays down on it. She’s a nester, though, and she loves to “fluff up” her spot before she lies down, and sometimes the protector moves around a little bit but not enough for concern.
The bolstered furniture protector is great because it allows the dogs up on the couch with us, but it protects our investment from damage and dirt in a gorgeous way. I am really glad we found this and that it works so well in our home.
I think Nike is glad, too! One of her favorite activities is snuggling on the couch at night with her daddy, and now she’s able to do that with the Large Bolstered Furniture Protector from Solvit!

I would like the extra wide bench seat cover. Right now I use a sheet to cover my back seat and it either moves around or blows off and defeats the purpose anyway.
love the dog bed on the couch
Actually, the large furniture protector in brown would be perfect for me! I have an older couch in the living room that the dogs are allowed to be on. However, they are NOT allowed on the new loveseat – and getting it through their stubborn heads isn’t easy. This would not only protect the furniture, but blend in beautifully!
Oh, I’d almost have to get the furniture protector. Living with a German shedder there’s fur EVERY where!
I’d choose the Kitty’Scape Basic Kit
I’d choose the Combo Scratcher in Warm Cherry
I would love to have the Loveseat Full-Coverage Furniture Protector, Cocoa. It sure would help me keep my couch clean.
Large Wicker Litter Pan Cover, Dark Brown as we have Shadows litter box in a bathroom this would nice
I really actually like what you have featured in this post. I like the edge being a pillow like feature. Thanks!
I would love to get the cocoa colored couch protector as my dogs shed like nuts!
That bolstered furniture protector looks AMAZING! My dogs love to steal the decorative pillows on the couch, so they’d be in live with one of those. Definitely entering your giveaway 🙂
I would choose the Deluxe Bench Seat cover to the car I’ll be buying in the fall!
I love your new furniture! I could use a cover for my sofa too.
I’d probably choose one of the pieces of cat furniture.
We’d get the small Kitty’Scape kit and donate it to the shelter.
I would LOVE one of their car ramps for our SUV!
I think maybe the steps. A friend has a small dog who can’t reach the bed or the couch by himself.
We sure could use the Half Ramp II to help our aging malamute into the SUV.
I would choose the Kitty’Scape kit
I would get these Large Wood PupSTEP Stairs .
I found a great cat house on sale for around $69.00.
I would choose the wood bedside ramp. It’s just what my dogs need to go up and down.
I love love love and love the Sofa Full-Coverage Furniture Protector, Cocoa
I would choose the furniture protector.
I would like the deluxe bench seat cover for the car. My son will not take his dog to the vet in his car because of the dog hair so we always end up taking her. Problem solved. Wow
We have 4 dogs & 3 cats plus we board dogs & have doggie day care. We sure could use one of these
I would probably choose the Kitty’Scape Basic Kit.
I would love a PupSTEP Plus XL Stairs for my elderly pug! This would eliminate my having to lift him on and off the bed.
I would choose a hammock style seat cover
I could totally use the furniture protector because little kitten claws are tearing up the couch I bought for the kitten room.
I would chose the Kitty’Scape Basic Kit
The furniture protector looks great. I have tried many other things that just don’t work well.
I’d have to go with the large couch protector or a safety harness for Piper for the car.
I would love to get the little guy a bed.
I’d choose a furniture. protector. When we first rescued our dog, she shed horribly. Now that she is on a good food it has stopped. She has now made the couch and bed her favorite places. Of course, now she is starting to shed a bit, I guess for summer and I want to limit the amount of hair.
I would love the furniture protector as my Boss moans all the time about the fur on his couches and would give it to him as a gift
I would love the Standard Pet Safety Seat, Brown.
Probably litter box related but also the dog bed.
I would love the large furnitures protector. My boys would love it too!
Love solvit! Their booster seat is the best I’ve ever purchased!
