Busy dog moms know that there are a lot of little details to keep track of when it comes to our mutts. If you’re anything like me, you probably find yourself writing those little details down on sticky notes and scraps of paper that can so easily become lost.
That’s why I love using a pet care planner for my dogs. I find that it’s such a cute and simple way to record the important stuff, and today I’m rolling out my brand new planner just for you!
If you downloaded last year’s planner, you’ll see that this new one is very different because of its soft, muted colors, but still contains the helpful pages that make it easy to get organized:
- About My Pet summary page
- Vaccination record
- Medication record
- Pet sitter notes
- Groomer notes
- Pet recipe cards
- Shopping list
- Password tracker
- Online order tracker
- Contact list
This pretty planner can easily be printed at home. It comes in 2 sizes, so you can choose the planner size that will work best for you. There’s letter-size, which can be printed on standard 8.5×11 paper.
There’s also A5 size, which is equivalent to half-letter size. Print it on standard paper, then cut in half!

When printing your new planner, I recommend using 32 pound bright white paper; it’s heavy duty, high quality paper that stands up to lots of daily use, and yet it’s so luxurious. I seriously love this paper; is that a silly thing to admit?!
After printing your planner, follow these simple steps to get it all set up and ready to go:
- If you chose the letter-size planner, use a standard 3-hole punch to create holes, and then add it to a pretty letter-size binder.
- If you chose the A5 size, you will see that it prints 2 planner pages to a single piece of copy paper. Use scissors or a paper trimmer to cut the pages in half, and then use an A5 6-hole punch to add holes to each page. Now they’re ready to be placed in the A5 planner of your choice.
Fun tip: if you use the standard size Happy Planner, print the letter-size planner at 85 percent and then trim the excess. The planner will now fit perfectly into your Happy Planner!
Use your favorite pen to jot down notes and other important details in your new planner. If you’re using the paper I recommended above, try using these colorful Papermate Flair pens! They have long been my favorites because they’re so colorful and happy.
