Because I work from home, it’s nothing for me to sit down and my desk and not move again for hours. Yes, I know this isn’t healthy for me and I’m trying to be more aware of the need to get up, stretch, and move around at least once an hour. It can be a real challenge.
But you know who also suffers when I get stuck at my desk? My dogs. They’re both well-behaved and they’ll lay underneath my chair, content to nap the day away, but I know that mental stimulation and physical activity is a must for them.
I’m always on the look-out for toys and other gadgets that will provide Nike and Georgie with some entertainment and enrichment while I’m working, so I was super excited when I was given the chance to check out the new Milk-Bone® ActiveTM Toys at Meijer.
Milk-Bone Active Toys can be found in the dog toy aisle at Meijer. I picked up the Treat Tumbler and the Biscuit Dispensing Ball, along with some Milk-Bone treats in perfect sizes for both of my dogs. Now through March 17, you can save $2 on the small toys and $3 on the medium toys when you use Meijer mPerks.
Even though I love the idea of toys that keep my dogs busy and active, the true test is always how Nike and Georgie feel about them.
Georgie went first, trying out the small Treat Tumbler. I filled it with Milk-Bone Minis, and then I tossed it to her. At first, she looked at me as if to say, “What do I do with this?” But then she saw that a treat had fallen out of the tumbler, and that definitely piqued her interest. She started pushing the tumbler around with her nose, and another treat fell out. That little dog pushed, pulled, and chased that tumbler all over the house until all the treats were gone. She was a happy girl!
Nike was a little bit different. You see, we have to limit the kind of toys she gets because she’s an extreme chewer and she can tear most toys apart in 2.3 seconds. As soon as she saw the Biscuit Dispensing Ball, she went nuts because, well, BALL!
The girl has never met a ball she didn’t like. But then when she saw what was inside? Well, have I mentioned that my big girl is extremely food motivated? Yeah, this Milk-Bone Active Toy was a big hit with her. Just look at this short video.
The Milk-Bone Active Toys were a huge hit with my dogs. They are super budget-friendly, and the Meijer mPerks coupons just make them even better. You can bet there will be lots more Active Toys playtime for Nike and Georgie in the future.
Will you give Milk-Bone Active Toys a try with your dog? If you do, please leave a comment for me and let me know how it goes. Better yet, why not share a photo over on my Facebook page!
