Whenever I mention to someone that I’ve lost 13 pounds since Thanksgiving, they always want to know how I’m doing it.
Losing weight is hard, y’all. But I’ve found a few very simple tried and true tricks that help me, and I’m betting they could help you, too.
Today I’m going to share with you my top 5 tips for losing weight, including one of my recent finds: Fabletics!

5 Tips for Losing Weight With Fabletics
1. Use a fitness app
I use the MyFitnessPal app on my phone because it’s amazing for tracking so many important details about healthy living. Record your weight, your meals, and your work-outs with ease.
You can connect with friends who are using the app, or you can use it in total privacy. Either way, I’ve learned that keeping track of the little details of my diet and exercise is imperative to reaching my goals.
2. Drink plenty of water
This is an oldie but a goodie. You’ve heard it hundreds of times but it bears repeating because it’s so true. Your body needs water in order to function properly, but water does so much more than that.
Drinking plenty of water fills you up and will keep you from being thirsty. It is believed that people often mistake their thirst for hunger, which means they eat when that’s really not what the body wants. When you get enough water each and every day, you’re less likely to overeat and fill up on high-calorie drinks that your body simply doesn’t need.
Drinking water is one of the simplest and least expensive things you can do to be healthier. Not a fan of plain water? Try SodaStream to give your water the bubbly carbonation that you might be missing by not drinking soda.
3. Have an accountability partner
When I began my weight loss journey on Thanksgiving day, I enlisted my sister’s help. I knew she also wanted to lose some weight and get healthy, so we decided to work together. We have weekly weigh-ins to keep track of the pounds, and we call and text each other regularly to provide moral support.
Being accountable to someone else is really helpful when it comes to losing weight. You know you’re not on the journey, and it’s great to have a friend or loved one cheering you on as you strive to live a healthier lifestyle.
4. Get active
You don’t have to become a gym rat to lose weight, but you do have to get active. As fun as it is to cuddle on the couch with your dog watching Netflix, that’s not the way you change your lifestyle.
Start out simple. Commit to daily (or twice daily) walks with your dog. That’s a great physical activity for both of you, and you’ll never regret the time you spend in nature with your dog.
Join a gym. I’ve recently started working out at my local Anytime Fitness, and I love it. The monthly rate is super affordable (you can get a free 7-day pass to check it out) and because the gym is open 24 hours a day, I can work out whenever it’s convenient for me.
Check out Beach Body on Demand for some really great at-home work-outs. You can work out in the privacy and comfort of your own home by streaming work-outs on your phone, computer, or TV. Try it free for 14 days!
I learned long ago that although I really don’t like to work out, I enjoy it a lot more when I can look cute and feel good about myself. That’s why I’m so excited about Fabletics!
Whether you’re looking for leggings or capris, tops, sports bras, or super cute accessories, you can count on Fabletics to come through for you with active wear that you’ll love.
I’ve been working out in Fabletics gear for a couple of months now, and I love it. It’s always a great fit, and everything washes up looking like new. I’m a lot happier girl going to the gym in a cute work-out outfit than in a grungy old t-shirt and sweats.
It really does make me more productive to look my best as I’m working up a sweat!
Right now you can become a VIP member of Fabletics and snag 2 pairs of gorgeous leggings for just $24! Yes, that’s right! Choose from designs by Kate Hudson, Demi Lovato, and Kelly Rowland to look and feel your best while you’re working out!
5. Be kind to yourself
Although I’m working really hard to lose weight and live a healthier life, somedays I fall short… really, really short. And that’s okay.
As you’re going along your weight loss journey, you’re going to have lots and lots of good days, when you look good and feel great about yourself. That’s what it’s all about.
But you’re going to have a few bad days, too. Like when you eat an entire box of cookies. Or you drink lots of Dr. Pepper, or is that just me? Or when you don’t want to work out for, like, a whole week.
Let me tell you what to do when you have those bad days: Show yourself some grace. Go to bed, get a good night’s rest, and get up tomorrow morning with a new sense of determination. It’s a brand new day, and it’s yours for the making!
These are just a few of my tips for losing weight. They work for me and while I can’t guarantee they’ll cause the pounds to fall right off you, I can promise that you’ll look and feel better right away.
