Last week my family traveled to Branson, Missouri for a few much needed days away. While we were there, we visit the Titanic Museum Attraction, where we met Molly and Carter.
Molly and Carter are Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, and they are the museum’s official mascots. They pay tribute to the 10 dogs that were aboard the Titanic when it sank on its maiden voyage in 1912. Only 3 dogs survived – a Pekingese and 2 Pomeranians.
The museum is amazing, filled with information and authentic artifacts from the Titanic. The outside of the building even looks like the ship, built to 1/2 scale of her original size.
Seriously, isn’t that amazing? And take a look at this, a full scale replica of the Grand Staircase.

A few years ago, I visited the Titanic Museum Attraction in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee during its opening week in 2010, and just like its Branson sister, it is a tasteful memorial to the lives that were lost that starry night when the Ship of Dreams, the unsinkable Titanic, went down in the North Atlantic.
I highly recommend both museums, and hope that on your next visit to Branson or Pigeon Forge, you’ll make time to check it out.
Have you visited either (or both) of the museums? I’d love to hear about your experience!
Mom loves the Titanic movie and did not realized there’s a museum. She said it will be great to visit the museum. We live in CHItown and lots of great museum here. Lots of Golden Woof, Sugar
Yes Sugar, you have some of the best museums in the world where you live! I hope Mom will be able to make it to the Titanic! From Chicago, it’s probably about 400-500 miles. That’s about how far it was for me, as well.
Is the ship handicapped to people
Debbie, the museum is equipped to accommodate handicapped individuals. For more information, you can contact them directly at 800-381-7670.
Very interesting. I never knew that there were dogs aboard. Amazing that a few of them survived. Love the pendants on Molly and Carter’s collars!
Ann, aren’t those pendants adorable! I die! 🙂
I love that they remember the dogs that were lost on the Titanic too.
Me too, Pippy. So sweet to remember even the tiniest lost soul.
