Recently I shared my cruelty-free morning skin care routine, and many of you asked about my bedtime routine.
Although skin care is super important to me – after all, you only get one set of skin to last you a lifetime! – I don’t like to spend a lot of time on it, especially at bedtime.
I mean, let’s be honest. By that time of day, I’m tired. I’m ready to fall into bed with my dogs, Netflix, and a soothing eye mask!
That’s why today I’m sharing my 5-minute bedtime skin care routine. As you can see, it doesn’t take much time at all to take good care of your skin, and you’ll never be sorry for being kind to yourself.

A Dog Mom’s 5-Minute Bedtime Skincare Routine
1. Wash face.
No matter how tired you are, at the very least you must wash your face every night before bed. I use Origins A Perfect World Antioxidant Cleanser because it detoxifies skin and gets rid of the day’s dirt, grime, and makeup. It’s gentle, so it won’t irritate sensitive skin.
2. Use a toner.
After I’ve washed my face, I follow it with a good toner. I like Origins United State Balancing Tonic. It gently exfoliates to sweep away pore clogging debris as it smooths rough spots.
3. Apply a moisturizer.
Your skin can really dry out overnight, so it’s important to use a good moisturizer. I use the holy grail of nighttime moisturizers, Origins High Potency Night-A-Mins. It goes on a little thick, but overnight it works its magic on your skin so that you wake up feeling fresh and ready to face the day.
4. Add a little lip balm.
Just like your face, your lips can become super dry as you sleep. Every night I apply a light coat of my favorite eos lip balm. Once a week I use the Green Tea Matcha Sleeping Lip Mask Balm for a little added moisturizing.
5. Use an eye mask.
Not only does an eye mask shut out the light to promote better sleep, but some of them have therapeutic benefits, too. This eye mask soothes headache pain, puffy eyes, and dry eyes.
Five minutes. That’s all this bedtime skin care routine requires, and it will truly make a world of difference in your skin. I promise!
Weekly Skin Care Tips
Once a week, I use a black charcoal face mask. This is a really great mask that recharges, hydrates, and boosts skin elasticity leaving it smooth and supple in just 15 minutes.
Also once per week, I use this amazing Dove Body Polish to exfoliate my entire body and remove dull, dry skin. It’s a real treat that I look forward to on Sunday nights and important part of my self-care routine.
