“Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in awhile, you could miss it.”
That’s a line from one of my all-time favorite movies, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, and even though the tale of Ferris’ epic day of playing hooky is just a story, there’s a lot of truth in that line.
Life does move fast and it’s so easy to get caught up in the day-to-day drag. We’re preoccupied by all that we have to do, by our jobs and our families, and by social media. It’s easy to forget to look around and just be in the moment. That’s why I’m partnering with Amanda at Dog Mom Days for Appreciate the Moments, a monthly themed photo challenge.
It’s simple: just one photo each month based on that month’s theme. Photos can include your pet… or not. It’s up to you.
That said, here’s my photo for winter.
Early to mid-December in central Indiana was incredibly mild. I was still occasionally using the AC in my car, opening the windows in my house, and wearing capris and t-shirts. We still had patio furniture on our deck. I was clearly in denial of what was bound to happen sooner or later: snow, and lots of it. But at least it was Christmas Eve, and if I have to endure a snowstorm, I’m okay with it at Christmastime.
Do you have a winter photo that you want to share? Join us in the Appreciate the Moments blog hop! Just add your link below and share your photos with the world! If you’re sharing your photos on social media, please be sure to use hashtag #AppreciateTheMoments!
Just a couple of rules: first, if you’re linking up, please be sure to link DIRECTLY TO your #AppreciateTheMoments post – don’t link to your main website URL. Great winter photo. I feel cold just looking at it! Thank you for hosting this challenge!
What a pretty scene! You are so right, we do need to slow down and appreciate special moments more. It’s a great idea for a photo challenge, and we are going to enjoy it!
This could be a holiday card or puzzle! It looks so peaceful and serene!
This looks like a fun Challenge,Speedy will love this,xx Rachel and Speedy
So pretty! My furniture on my back patio looks a lot like that, too–there’s a bit of a snow tunnel between the table and the bench, so the dogs have been enjoying racing through it!
For Christmas eve everything looks so barren and empty.
I’m tattling! 12 on the linkys is not a Winter Post.
What a great photo! It’s beautiful up there! I’m just glad it doesn’t snow like that here in Florida! Love the snow but couldn’t live in it!
Snow is actually beautiful …on the screen 😀
After the frigidity of the last couple weeks I thought I wouldn’t enjoy it any more lol.
