One of the things I love about Fall is the abundance of fresh apples. Honeycrisps are my absolute favorites, but to be honest, I’ve never met an apple I didn’t like.
After a weekend visit to a local orchard last year, I started looking for a dog treat recipe that incorporates apples. My dogs love them nearly as much as I do, and I was really excited to find this simple cookie recipe for apple & ginger snaps for dogs.

Although you can any style of cookie cutter to make this adorable treat, I chose a dog-shaped cookie cutter. You can also use bone shapes, hearts, or stars. Or, if you want to keep it simple, just roll them into little bite-sized balls that your dog will love.
With only 5 simple ingredients, many of which you probably already have in your kitchen, these treats are as healthy and wholesome as they are delicious. My dogs love them, and I’m betting yours will, too.
You can see the little bits of apple in these cookies, and that’s what makes them perfect for Fall.
We live in a neighborhood that gets a lot of trick-or-treaters, and many of them bring their dogs along for the fun. Last year, I made several batches of these apple & ginger snaps, put them in cute little treat bags, and passed them out to all the 4-legged visitors at my house on Halloween night. They were a big hit.
