When we go to bed at night, my husband and I share our space with a 70 pound Pit Bull mix and a 7 pound Dachshund. Do they take up a lot of room? Of course. But do we derive a lot of joy from having them so close to us throughout the night? Absolutely. I can’t imagine not having my dogs in bed with me when I lay down my head to sleep at night.
Of course, as I mentioned above, it’s a personal decision whether or not to allow your dog into the bedroom with you, and there’s no wrong answer. The right answer is whatever works best for your family.

I can’t imagine not sleeping with my dogs. They give me such comfort. Yes, they take up the whole bed LOL, but if I wake up in the middle of the night, at least one of them always has his head on my leg or foot. It makes me smile.
Great article! Thank you for sharing this
Hi Christina! Just found your lovely blog and, as a pit bull momma myself, am enjoying it! Lol, given my current pittie’s love of the middle of the bed and how I have to curl around her to sleep, I’m not sure about #5. (She’s still kinda new to us and came from a sad situation, so I let her get away with it.) But I see where you’re going and love the message 🙂 Best, Christie
great and true reasons. our westie is a snugglebutt and cannot imagine not sharing the bed with him, though our golden used to as well 🙂
Gonna show this article to my Mom, who always complain when I want to sleep with my cat. Thank you for sharing the post!!
